Asante Sana, Swahili for “Thank you very much” is a partnership of hope with HIV/AIDS women’s groups in the slums of Nairobi. By paying the women the market cost for their products and excluding the middle man we are able to directly participate in helping to create a market in which their products can be widely sold.
Our organisation offers a one-to-one connection between the women in Nairobi and women throughout the United States. We believe this partnership will continue the effort in helping to restore the dignity, to these women, which has been lost due to conflict and marginalisation.
In addition to partnering with the women groups in Nairobi, we have chosen to reinvest 80% of the proceeds into assisting Child Households in Ethiopia and efforts to end the use of women as weapons of war in the DR Congo.
